let’s keep it this way, it is one of those things like modeling, the longer I work in a file, it will invariable happen, if I restarted softimage every 10 minutes then did a ctrl-d on an ice tree it would never happen. definitely not a problem pre 2013.

After a crash I can reopen the scene and duplicate the ice tree fine (it has nothing to do with the ice tree itself).
