But "We'll build these artist friendly workflows into Maya as we go."
So, yay. It felt a bit like your parents telling why they're getting a divorce (and no-one wants the dog so it's going to get put down). Bifrost could potentially be exciting if you'd never see ICE before. I wonder what else it does? I literally remember my jaw dropping when ICE the the street, and then it kept dropping regularly afterwards with each step forward it took and with each new set of amazing Addons that came out for it. I dearly hope AD pull it off, but the idea of running projects, any kind of projects, without an open framework like ICE as a part of the toolset really saddens and frustrates me. I can safely say I use in 95% of jobs I do, whether there are particles involved or not. Two years is not a long time to create an equivalent working system in an older piece of software as far as I can see. I thought XSI took so long because they wanted to make sure the core architecture was as future proof as possible. Yes, people will move to Maya, but it will be grudgingly and the thought of using Max feels like staring into some dystopian abyss. Anyone used to using Soft will be looking for a brighter, cleaner option and people will be using Soft way, way beyond the 2 year mark. I'll think I'll take my standard fall-back position when faced with this kind of situation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WlBiLNN1NhQ Adam. _____________________ http://www.linkedin.com/in/adamseeleyuk https://vimeo.com/adamseeley >________________________________ > From: Alan Fregtman <[email protected]> >To: XSI Mailing List <[email protected]> >Sent: Monday, 17 March 2014, 22:45 >Subject: Re: Autodesk webinar > > > >Looks like they finally added the "hover over corner to limit >translation/scaling to that plane" feature.
