I installed and opened-up SI 3D a while ago.  it was like looking at a toy.

everything was super simple, almost like toy, the Material editor.. lol , Huuge buttons,
it was hard to see how we made pretty complex things with it.

In Japan they kept using SOFTIMAGE|3D a lot longer than most people, so I assume they used 3D a bit on that game too.
