It's true, Maya doesn't respond to cleverness. It's like trying to be sharply sarcastic with a slow witted, mean spirited six year old, he will just stare at you and kick you in the nuts. When I have to use Maya from the UI end of things I just assume I am confronting a malicious, starved and retarded puma that wishes me ill, and behave accordingly. I also give all skinning tasks to other people.
