Hello List. I am seeking to present my softimage movies, and my still digital images (about 50) , on a website i want to build this summer.
I will be working with the graphist which helped for the book I talked you about earlier. To present my still images (done with Painter & Softimage), I wish i could use a kind of vmrl , each of the 50 images would go on a cube (3d object, primitive mesh) with a cubic projection, same image repeated six times on each faces of cube as texture. The 50 cubes would float 'freely', like 'out of gravity' kind of slightly moving. The user of the website would access to the digital images, would view each in full definition, by CLICKING on the cube of election with the cursor. The question is i don't know if that's really often done yet. https://sourceforge.net/projects/freewrl/ offers a free VRML browser as example of what used to be vrml, it was more fashionable in the 90ies i guess. The problem with VRML is that the images-cubes do not float 'by themselves' : which is my first goal, the user arriving and viewing the 50 cubes floating, then understanding she can 'interact' with the cubes, and selects for herself a full def-visualisation. by CLICKing, which i think VRML does not support. We also want to be able to enable the "play" of an animation, instead than the visualization of one of the stills. ยง My graphist was the one talking about "webdocumentaire" also in relation with augmented reality. If you have any idea how simple or complex this extraordinary presentation of my work, would be, could become possible, technologically? How? Do you have an idea? I could discuss hire services of scripting if those were found needed, after discussion. Thankyou, Nicol.
