Good Afternoon All,

I have completed the board layout for a version of the RXTX where the
Xtall function is combined on the same board with a SoftRock Lite
receiver, (like the Lite+Xtall v8.3), as well as the one-watt RXTX
transmitter function. Plug-in RX and TX modules provide for band
changing with the target to be the four band groups: 160m, 80m/40m,
30m/20m/17m, and 15m/12m/10m.

The board size is slightly smaller than the RXTXv6.2 board at 2.5
inches by 3.25 inches. The TX module plugs on top of the upper right
quadrant of the RXTX board carries the TX band specific components as
well as the driver and PA circuits. The receiver band specific
module is the same as used with the v8.3 Lite+Xtall kit.

One additional feature of the RXTX+Xtall v6.3 board is the inclusion
of the Rocky 3.x interface on the board so that the transceiver is
Rocky ready, just wire a D-9 connector to the board for serial port
control of the RXTX board.

Final board checking should be completed by Monday and prototype
boards will be orders for four examples of the transceiver kit. I am
needing two additional testers who have the interest and test
equipment to evaluate the performance of the transceiver on various
bands. The kit will be provide at no charge to two testers who are
interested in providing feedback later in May.

Thanks and 73,
Tony KB9YIG
