Yes, exactly.  I'm neither a programmer nor a software engineer, but I can 
see a need for various pieces of software, such as contest logging 
programs, to be able to control the frequency of a SoftRock.  The hardware 
might be as simple as a USB receiver and a PIC to control the Si570; the 
software 'protocol' could be as as simple as a single CAT frequency-set 
command.
