Terry, you're definitely right. I use my Edirol with my laptop too... most of them have firewire I/O, but the "small" one, without the power supply pins. For this reason, you must use the edirol's AC adaptor... that's frustrating ! because you lose the mobility you were looking for with the portable computer.
I initially though Vince's question was about probable conflicts and cohabitation problems in a multi-soundcard configuration. F6itu
