Who here knows (in numbers) how loud an unmuffled 750 or 550 would be? I've got a set of shorty exhaust pipes, that are basically extended headers with slash cuts on the end for my 550 chopper project. I'd like to use them and around here, the laws ( or maybe the enforcement) tend to be somewhat lax regarding vehicle noise. Most trucks and bikes run around muffler-less, and of course they are competing with the 4wheeled speakers that the kids are driving. Since there's no vehicle inspection here in South Carolina, I'm safe on that end, I'd just like to know if anyone here has measured the sound levels at say idle and 3K rpm from 50 or so feet away.
