notename|bb -> b
notename|bbb -> bb
notename|b# -> h#
notename|bx -> hx
Isn't this the way it is supposed to be if we want to get all the
exceptions correctly?
Only the 'Id tone' config window shows 'h' - the 'Id tone' Practise
window as well as all the windows in 'Identify tone' show 'b'.

I am about to finish the Finnish translation and there is one quite
important question concerning which I would hope to receive some
guidance.
In schools we use the German notename system in which notename 'b' is
'h' (for the other exceptions check the bottom of the message).
Translating the notenames to this system does not seem to work fully:
For example Id tone config window shows 'h' but even in the same
exercise the Practise window always uses 'b'.
Most people I've played with speak about 'b' instead of 'h' so this
would not be such a major problem for most rockers but since I have
found Solfege potentially promising tool for the children beginning
classical training at the conservatory, I would be prone to think that
the more traditionally oriented teachers would greet the software and
use it with even more enthusiasm if there was no notename mismatch
between the software and their books. Thus getting the German system
work would be recommended.
The best possible solution would be that the user could set the
notename
system from the Preferences.
I'm not totally new to Poedit, but while translating Solfege it seems
not to have compiled the .mo -files correctly - some translations that
are there on the .po-file need to be cleared and copy-pasted again to
the same place (and saved immediately) to make them work in the
.mo-file. Anyhow, this does not seem to be the problem with notenames
since I've tried the same correction that works with other lines of
translations several times and the conclusion is: other lines work
when
re-entered, notename lines work only partly (as mentioned in Id tone
example).
So... any help/guidelines would be much appreciated. If most
people just
want to kick out the German system for good I will accommodate
with the
opinion and go on with my life (slightly bitter though ;) but it is a
point to consider first.
