Hi Tom and everyone,
I thought I'd mention that I just compiled Solfege 3.12.1 on my mac,
and it worked fine. I just followed the first two lines of the
generic instructions ("./configure" and then "make") and then instead
of the third line, I used "sudo make install". I haven't tested it
thoroughly to make sure everything works, nor do I know that it would
work for other systems (I have Mac OS 10.5 running on Intel, with
Python 2.5.2). I'll let you know if I run into trouble down the road,
but I thought you might want to put a note on the website about it.
For me, at least, and assuming there are no hidden problems to be
found, this was easier than installing 3.10 using fink.

I'm sorry, but the only info about OS X is this:

So I believe you have to compile it yourself right now. Someone
named Jean created a package for solfege 3.8.2, but I don't have the
email, only his instructions on the wiki.
We need someone to step up and do the job of packaging for OSX. Or
someone should sponsor me a Mac. Then there will be OSX releases :-)

Hi all,
I just checked the website and I see that 3.12.0 is out. Cool. Is
there a way for Mac users to get in on this? Is a fink release
planned, or is compiling from source feasible for a layperson? (I
just subscribed to the list... I tried to see if there was anything
about macs in the release announcement on the list, but when I click
on that message in the archives, for some reason I get some message
from 2002 instead.)
Thanks,
Allen
