Thanks.  I had forgotten the website was a wiki.  I will try to make  
some edits to consolidate the Mac-related info into one place.  Before  
I do, though, where did the information at 
http://www.solfege.org/Solfege/FinkInstallMacOsX 
  come from?  How old is that info?  When I had installed 3.10 with  
fink, I followed the directions at 
http://www.solfege.org/Solfege/InstallingSolfege#MacOSX 
, which are different and quite a bit simpler.

By the way, the downside of suggesting that other Mac people compile  
Solfege themselves is that other people might not have all the  
dependencies already installed like I apparently did.  But I'll try to  
put a note on the wiki about dependencies.  And speaking of  
dependencies, I was looking over my log from compiling solfege 3.12,  
and I notice it couldn't find lilypond or bzr.  Are there features of  
Solfege that might not work without these?
