By Jacob Achiek Jok *JUBA, 12 February, 2014 [Gurtong] - *The Acting Head of sub-office for OCHA in Jonglei, Edmore Tondhlana has said they have heard of different locations where food is needed in Jonglei. In their meeting with state government they agreed to provide humanitarian help to the people affected by this conflict in the state. "We have agreed with the government to provide humanitarian help to the people affected by this conflict in the state," Tondhlana said in Bor on Tuesday. The figure is not clear, for how many people are still living in Swampy areas. Auilla Maluth Mam, the acting governor of Jonglei state said they have requested UN-OCHA to help state in general cleaning of the town and in burring the dead people in Bor. He said they have no trucks to carry the bodies to the grave yards. He said that collection of dead bodies and burials had been slowed down by a misunderstanding between the workers and the officers responding for the exercise over the delay of workers' weekly wages. The OCHA said in a report that security situation in the state remains relatively calm, though an attack on Kolnyang in Bor South County caused several civilian casualties. The unconfirmed reports have also been received of clashes south of Bor town, leading to increasing numbers of people arrived in Bor from Minkaman during the day, returning in the afternoon. The living conditions for civilians sheltering in the UN base in Bor improved, though mortality rates remain high, in part due to continuing reports of measles cases in the base.
