Thanks Ulrich, good idea! I'll try to be diligent in pushing 14.4.1 to Debian unstable however it will be hard this weekend¹. I want to have a close look and think thoroughly about that API/ABI breakage, symbol Vs. shlib files thing. Note that each time there is an ABI breakage that forces me to increase Y in the package name libsoxY, I need to coordinate the transition with the Debian release team. On a sidenote I'm also considering asking for the removal of libsox-fmt-ffmpeg (14.4.0) from Debian testing so it does not propagate to the upcoming Debian stable. ffmpeg support is broken and is depricated in 14.4.1 anyway. I don't think we want script or application developers to build upon it, do we?
