The original post is about dropping a speexdsp include.
If you have a question about something else,
start a new thread asking that.
Now, what do you mean by "time" being a build dependency?
The time(3) function as declared in <time.h>?
Or do you mean something else?
grep says that e.g. the cvsd and gsrt formats
want to store the current time in the header.
Every POSIX system has time(3). So why do you ask?
strlen(3) is a build dependency too; so is cc(1).
