Eric has great debugging support.

Vim is good for quick bug fixing where starting Emacs or Eclipse would
be an overkill.

Eclipse - I am using this for writing code, Python support is quite
good. I am switching between Emacs and Eclipse, but recently I left
Emacs for my LaTex writing (PhD thesis ...) and use Eclipse for Python.

Ipython is great for its debugging support, great introspection and many
other things - I am using this exclusively instead of the standard
python shell (I do not like GUIs like IDLE or SPE for interactive work)
