There really is no editor other than Vim. I don't know why people play
around with the other programs that claim to be editors ;-)
it may not be an editor, but Emacs with the Python-mode (and pyrex-mode,
iirc) is quite nice - don't remember how the vim version was, but
otherwise nothing has beaten that .. e.g. pressing tab on a line to fix
possible strange intendation there etc. (and ok cvs integration).
