"Thank you, Commanderrr," she replied amiably, "Patuxent out."  She had to
chuckle as soon as the channel was closed.  That was something she enjoyed
doing, surprising people.  Not in a mean way, of course, but just relishing
the reaction.

She entered the field at one quarter speed, and the asteroid field was
certainly a test of her rusty piloting abilities.  They were honed to a
sharp point by the time she got through and felt the tractor beam grab the
runabout.  Once she was certain they had control, she grabbed her small bag
and awaited the green light that said it was safe to open the door.

She opened the hatch and stepped out into the station, looking for the CO.
"Perrrmission to come aboarrrd, Commanderrr Brrrell?" she asked.
