"Two walking wounded, and one we had to carry out Admiral. They
will all make it. Good people, sir." replied the dirty LCMR trying to
regain some of his composure at just blasting another only to be heard by an
admiral.... and the big boss at that.

"Well, sir, we were there doing some standard recon on what we thought
was a launch point for a possible first strike force. As usual our intell
was bad. Not that the information was bad, but I believe that the analysis
was of poor quality. We went in. I wish I could say completely undetected,
but I can not. I thought we got in fairly clean. Enough for a quick look
around before the heat came in. However, they were waiting for us. Just
they have been for several missions now. I can only speculate on the
reasons why, sir, so I will include them in my official report. We got in,
and somehow they found us. They found us, and tried to corner us. The only
thing that saved us was Palmer. He did a lone rush on a squad of cardies
and took them out, and almost got taken out himself. If he had not done
that, sir, we would have been captured. I was lucky to get him back to our
medic."

He let things stay there for questions. The picture was not a rosey
one, especially not the one that the official reports gave.
