As the two were talking, a new voice joined into the conversation.  "Good
evening, Commander, Ms. D'amondra," Admiral Candance Bedru said as she
approached.

There was nothing unfriendly or disdainful about the way spoke to either
party.  However, she clearly knew who she was talking to.

"I am sorry to interrupt your dinner," she said, apologizing especially to
D'amondra.  Then she directed her attention to Lasiter.  "Commander, I
would like to schedule a first meeting with you and other members of
Explorer's command crew.  Can you be available day after tomorrow at 1300
hours?"

(response)

Bedru (who was just looking for something to do) ends
