The guard pushed a button on his panel.� Seconds later, another guard
appeared, a Vulcan female.� "Take the lieutenant to Lt. Rivest."
"This way," the new guard said.
Holt nodded as she fell inline behind the guard.
The woman led Holt to a scanner at the end of a small room.� The room was
windowless and had a door at each end.� Both doors required at least palm
and retinal verification to open.� "Place your palm on the flat sensor and
look into the hood," the guard said.
Holt leaned forward and placed her hand on the sensor pad to allow for the
required ID scans. She was not all that surprised by the security measures,
considering where she was, but she did wish that she could just get this
meeting over with.
