rendering energy weapons, like our phasers, inoperable." reported her tech.
"Hand to hand it is then." said another near by.
"Preparrre forrr melee," she growled, sticking her phaser in its holster.
No less than 3 seconds later came the explosion of yelling as the rush
happened. Obviously the laser triped explosive had failed due to the
dampening field. It was on...
What had first been an assault to take over the ship had become a battle for
their lives, and Kitanya was not about to go down like this, in the middle of
a bunch of mewling Caitian-wannabes. This was where their recent training
would really pay off, and she hoped that she and the other Caitians had done
their jobs in teaching them. She fought with all the weapons at her disposal;
teeth, claws, strength, and most importantly, experience.
The rumble started with a clash. The Felinids may not have impressed the
Starfleet/Klingon/Caitian teams with their weaponary skills, but they were
damned good hand to hand. Teeth, claws, and all.
A few more of the teams fell, but injured not killed. However, more of the
enemy fell dead than the injured and dead of our heros combined.
The battle was suddenly cut short, just as the phaser fire. This time by a
horrible shake of the ship. Hathor had just pounded her with a massive phaser
and torpedo salvo a midships. Shields fell and all but emergency power
remained active. Kitanya and her team suddenly found themselves beaming back
to Hathor, just as the next round of torpedos came crashing into the already
disabled ship.
When Kitanya materialized she found herself holding, and being held, by a
Felinid officer of significant rank by the looks of things. While she had
the, decidedly better position on the slightly smaller cat-like creature, he
was not giving up. At least until he saw that there were at least 9 phasers
pointed at him from the very team that he was fighting against... the Spec Ops
band.
