The pain of what she had done flared briefly in t'Llhweiir's eyes before
it vanished behind the cool, hard mask that had become her face.  "Thank
you, Sir," she replied simply.

Matt was clearly deflated, and even though he wasn't the one at stake here, he 
looked more beaten and defeated than Sam did.  He'd watched the interplay between 
the two, staying clear because he had nothing meaningful to add.  Tehre was no 
compromise he could think of that would bridge this gap, and he was completely 
heartbroken.  He looked to Carrhae, askign her with his eyes if this pound of flesh 
was enough to satsify her honor.
