     Lasiter stood and walked over to his window.  It held a view of the
deepness of space.  Terra and the other celestial bodies were not within it's

     He stood there for a good long moment, staring out into space.  His
friend had shot down a reasonable request, and was essentially confined to the
station....

    Without turning around, the CinC answered.  "Very well."   He said just
barely audible.
