additional restriction, Sir," she said. "Otherwise, I have no other
option than to relieve you."
She had bent as far backward as her honor would allow. With the
restrictions she had suggested, Lasiter would still be in command, not
relieved and restricted to his quarters under guard--something that
would not go unnoticed.
But if he would not relent, she truly had no other choice.
