The two men made there way to the Ops Center and their station. While
setting up their stations to coordinate the station's personnel to the
situation, Audra briefed them on the abductions.
"Commanders...thank you for getting up here so quickly....Commander Dais,
before our Command Meeting, I want you to go to the Venasian consulate and
deliver a message to the guard personally...stress its importance. Request
that it be passed onto someone of importance immediately. Then come directly
back here...no side trips. Any questions?" He said this while he typed the
message.
"No, sir," replied the Trill.
He put the message in a sealed diplomatic pouch and handed it to Dais. "You
have your orders Commander."
"Understood, sir," replied Dais as he took the communique and made his way
out of the Operations Center. It did not take him long to reach the
Consulate area. He made his way over to the Venasian Embassy and walked up
to the guards that were posted.
"I have a message from the station's commanding officer that must be passed
along to a governmental representative immediately."
One of the new guards took the message. "We will see to it that it reaches
the right person, Commander."
There was a strange feeling that came over Dais as the Venasian took the
message. Perhaps it was just a hunch or a gut feeling, or perhaps is was
nothing at all, but he got a strange feeling that the message would not make
it to the truely 'right person'. However, there was little he could do, or
was there.
