"Ambassador Na'Tral, that may be easier said than done. I agree that a united diplomatic front is very important, but I am not sure that everyone will be willing to allow the situation play out on it's own," replied T'Kresh.

"And what does that mean?" asked Valtris.

"I think that Ambassador Ra'aj was just pointing out that our peoples all confront such incidents differently, but the Council has been set up to try and smooth over these situations. Coming to a united front will be easier because we are here to talk things through."

"And what of the Dominion?" asked Valtris. "They have no representation on this council currently, and I am sure that they would welcome this incident to get things back on track in this Quadrant."

"We can only deal with those who have made themselves available to the Council and hope we can stabilize the situation so that such a thing does not happen." Golan turned to Na'Tral. "What do you think your government's reaction to the situation will be?"

'I think they are changing their pants right now.' the Andorian thought to himself. "While I can not speak for the policy makers officially, I believe they will publically take a wait and see attitude. Give the 'new government' a chance to explain themselves. Unofficially, I think that the reaction will be quite different. Ships will be outfit for war, and an all out search for Venasian ships will begin. An investigative and diplomatic team will be sent, sooner or later, to Pacifica to gather more information. But again, I can not speak for the policy makers."

Golan nodded. It sounded like a typical Federation response. It was temperred and controlled. It also seemed a little cautious, considering that Pacifica was in Federation space. "Considering that our goal is a united front, do you think the diplomatic team could be made up of representatives or our various governments?"

"I can pass your suggestion along. While I make no promises, I would be hopeful of it being agreed to."
