"Madame Secretary, we are a small deligation that has been sent by the
Federation to congratulate your new leadership and hopefully open renewed ties between our two governments."

The server looked up and smiled politely. "Deepest apologies, Commander, but I am not the Secretary. I am merely one of the chef's staff. Secretary V'nquera will be with you momentarily."

After the server had left, several minutes passed, broken by the soft trickle of the water fountain in the corner. Somewhere, bells chimed the hour.

The door opened again, and a small Venasian male walked in. By his slicked, black hair and pointy nose, he gave all appearance of being a rat. He was immaculately dressed in what appeared to be the male diplomatic uniform. "My apologies for the wait, Commanders," he started, "We have had some scheduling problems due to the recent systems changeover; however, in this case it worked towards your advantage, as I am a little more flexible with my time than normal." He took a seat across from them, his sharp eyes perusing them. "In any case, welcome to Pacifica, and to the Venasian consular annex. How may I be of service today?"

"Thank you for taking the time to meet with us," replied Dais. "We have been sent by the Fedearation to meet and celebrate the new Venasian leadership. We are hoping to maintain the friendly ties we have between our two peoples and, perhaps, even strengthen them."
