>"I fully understand, Admiral. For what it's worth, I don't think that
Kettering is behind this. It's not like him. He has served in the fleet
for all of his adult life. He has survived combat, and burried friends.
This kind of attack is not the kind that any officer of his length of
service could take part in. For what it's worth, Admiral, a lot of us
extend out condolenses to Admiral Lasiter."
"I'll pass them along, thanks," she said with a small smile. "Kitanya out."
>When the call was complete, Aurellius was waiting. "I just got word from
our people on Spacedock that the space doors have been opened, and
starships are pulling out. I also have some bad news to report. Commander
M'Rrenn was listed as missing in the aftermath of the sniper attack.
Unfortunately, he has been located.", he said handing over another PADD to
her.

Kit just stared at the PADD. She would have fallen down if she hadn't
already been sitting. She closed her eyes tightly to forbid the tears that
threatened to come from spilling. Alone again. She mastered her emotions,
though with great effort. So many things were running through her mind
that she had to do something or she would go mad right then. She handed
the PADD back. "Thank you," she said in a low, gravelly voice. "I have to
go rrreporrt to Admirrral Lasiterrr." She would not tell him of this, not
now, not there. SHe would tell him this in private, away from those who
would not understand. It was a blow he could ill afford to bear, and she
wondered if it would break him. He relied on M'Rrenn for so much, and they
had been friends.
(resp?)
She nodded. "So am I," she said. "He was a damned fine officerrr." Maybe
it was time to go home, go back to Cait, bury her friend, and forget
Starfleet. She was so tired of this game. She could find a place in her
clan training the young warriors.
(reps?)
She shook herself. "Sorrrry," she said. "I - I need to go." She got up
slowly, and went to beam down to the planet. She had a job to do still.
