t'Llhweiir went to the far end of the room and, activating her PADD, accessed
her office computer to check for updates.
The information was still scarce, but there had been some progress. The Klingons,
Romulans, Cardassians, and Breen had all been eliminated as having anything to do with
the explosion. The Venasians, while not totally eliminated yet, were not considered a
likely suspect by any measure. The Dominion was another story. The end of the
Federation/Klingon Empire war against the Cardassians/Dominion was a major set back
for them, not to mention embarassing. While relations had calmed down since the war,
they were not exactly friendly either.
Intell was able to put together more information about groups similar to the
Brotherhood. Groups such as the Knights of Right, the Coaliation of the Faithful, and
the Earth Militia all favored a strong Federation. They opposed treaties with "alien"
races like the Venasians, Cardassians, Dominion, etc, and actively support the
expansion of the Federation by any means necessary. All believed that the Federation
full of corruption. Reducing that impression would help to combat these groups.
Some, but not all advocate assassination and other forms of terrorism to accomplish
their goals. The frieghtening thing was that in some parts of the Federation these
groups enjoyed wide spread support. While their ranks were few in number, the sad
state of affairs in the Federation would only give these groups a chance to spead. A
chance to swell their ranks.
