Dais studied the Klingon Security Chief. He did not like what he was hearing. "While I agree that security on the station has to be increased, he must remember that this is a public station, Commander. This is not a starship in which all of those aboard are carefully controlled. We are billed as the 'Gateway to Earth' in our tourist literature," he said as he slammed his fist down on the table to emphasize his point.
Lorin did not let himself jump but the display surprised him.
K'Tael nodded in understanding. I am not proposing that we lock the station up from Ops to the Promenade, Commander. I am just saying that we can restrict areas that the public does not have a need to see, particularly those that are both critical and sensitive. I believe Engineering and lower decks are one such area."
"With all due respect Commander Dais, while I see your point completely, I need to agree with Commander K'Tael. There is no reason for non-Engineering or non-Command personnel to be in the area that the explosive was planted. I believe we can back that one up."
Dais had not been disagreeing with K'Tael about the need to increase security in such areas. He just had a concern that the Security Chief was not going to stop there with the restrictions. "I agree, sir. The questions is going to come up with what to do with the more public areas were we could expect mass casualites."
"Commander Dais, I understand the role the station plays. I have no plans to complete lock down the station," replied the Klingon. "With that said, we can limit civilians to access only to those parts of the station that they should have access to. That means keeping the operation areas of the stations limited to station personnel. This should not be a majore problem."

"We are going to have to make sure that we are getting strictor inspections at customs," continued K'Tael. "I know that it probably will mean an increase in the number of inspections if we are going to do so and not slow down the process, but it is going to have to be done."

"Another area that is going to be tricky to deal with is the Ambassadorial section. We are not in complete control of that section. Each embassy provides its own security and diplomatic personnel are exempts from certain types of search, seisure and arrest."
