"Thank you..." David sat down. "I've been told I need to be cleared by you before I can go back on regular duty." It wasn't that David wasn't interested in being there-he was simply mentally exhausted.
Joanna could see the exhaustion in David's eyes. It was not the type of tiredness one experienced from not getting enough sleep. That was clear. She nodded in response to his question. "That is correct, David. We just want to make sure that you have had a chance to review what happened while you were on your last assignment." She left the statement open to see if he would start them down the path.
