>"I close my eyes and the nightmares return...I can sleep when sedated or
if I'm non-sedated for brief periods."

>Joanna nodded with understanding eyes.  Considering what she had read in
the reports, she was not surprised to hear this.  "What can you tell me
about your nightmares, David?"

He took a deep breath..."I'm headed to the 'Box' which is where they
tortured people..." he visibly shuddered, "They burned people alive-did
whatever was necessary to get what information they wanted no matter the
cost. They knew I was Starfleet...but wouldn't help me."
It was tough to bite back the revulsion at hearing these words.  As a Counselor, Joanna could not judge.  She was there to listen.  At least that is what the professional literautre said, but Joanna could never understand how counselors could remain so detached.  This man was broken by his experiences in a barbaric setting.  How can you fix someone when you don't feel for them.

"What did they seem to want from you?"

(David?)
