"Pity we can't use the old methods on them.", retorted a Klingon. Making reference to the interrogations that the Klingons had a reputation for.
Daphne eyed the speaker. While she had come to respect the Klingons through the many years she worked with them, she did not share their need to respond to everything with violence. "I don't think that that would work in this situaiton. I think it would drive the Felinids to resist, gaining confidence from their abilities to withstand the pain and still not give us the information that they need. We need to gain their respect. They view us as being beneath them, and they are not going to talk as long as they see us that way."
"They view us as weak, and worthy of contempt. They must be taught to respect us, to fear us.", was the Klingon reply.
A Caitain answered, "They must respect us. That is not in dispute. However, fear is not the way to accomplish that. Perhaps an adaptation of an old earth technique... good cop, bad cop, silent cop..... Only this time we try one of the weaker, lesser individuals. We might learn something that we can then us in an interrogation of the big bad...."
Daphne nodded. "That could particularly be true if the individual has not had the guidance of the alpha felinid. He or she would be nervous about speaking. Good cop/bad cop should help him talk."
"Perhaps we should begin tomorrow morning. We could use the night to loosen them up a bit. A fitfull night sleep may help.", answered the Klingon.
