"I understand, Counselor. I am sure that whomever gets this assignment will
handle it with all due care. Is there anything that I should know about
David's state?"

Joanna took a moment to consider her response before speaking. "Well, David
is doing a lot better than one would think, particularly considering what
has happened since he has returned to Spacedock. He is doing very well.
That comes with a little bit of caution, though. If his treatment is not
maintained properly, he could have a remition or worse, his trouble mind
could feed on negative emotions to deal with the challenges he is facing."

"Keep in mind, Counselor, that while he is on light duty he is still the
JAG. Cases involving mistreatment of prisioners, excessive force, and the
recent events here on the station and on earth will undoubtedly come his
way. He will be required to put those feelings and emotions of his under
wraps. Being the Judge Advocate General requires nothing less.", Lasiter
reminded her. David was in a bad position. He had to recover and deal with
his demons, but at the same time he could not keep them at arms length...

"That is why he still has mandated counseling sessions, sir," responded
Joanna. "I think it must be pointed out that Captain Boulay is a lot
further along than most people would be under the circumstances. He is at a
very delicate point. If he is pushed too far to quickly, his emotional
health will be in danger. This is not just a problem for his career, sir,
this is a problem that if not dealt with well could land him in an
institution. His health must come first. He has a staff that will help
with taking up some of the responsibilities. That is what they are there
for." Joanna's navy eyes took on a steely appearance as she spoke. It was
not meant as a threatening gesture, but as one to say that she was not going
to back down when it came to the health of her patient.

"Your concerns are noted Counselor. However, if he was not ready then he
should not have been returned to duty.... He has an assignment, and that
should keep his mind busy with something productive. If you think he is
being over taxed, give me a call. I will replace him in his current duties,
and find him something more suitable. Agreed?" Lasiter too would not budge
on the matter. He had more to consider than David, but because of their
relationship as friends, he was giving David the benefit of the doubt.

There was more that she wanted to say. She was worried that Lasiter was
threatening Boulay's position. He was taking the limited duty allowance
differently than it should. At the same time, she was not going to pick an
argument with the CinC over it. She was going to be working closely with
the captain to make sure that he did not push too far. She could always
speak up if things started going badly for him. "Agreed, sir."

She waited to hear if there was more that he wanted to talk to her about
before dismissing her.

"Good. Then we'll be in touch. Good day Commander.", he said. The meeting now over.
