Joanna was surprised at Lasiter's plans. One would not normally have a
victem of rape or other sort of violent crime be a participant in the
investigation of the crime. They have an important role to play in the
investigation, but being one of the investigators was not one of them.
Besides, from what she understood, David was not the only victim in this
instance. She was not sure how to broach the subject with him.
"Sir, permission to speak freely."
"Of course, Counselor..."
"Admiral, I definitely agree with you about David's need to confront any
fears that might accumulate as a result of his experiences on his mission.
I am just not so sure that he should directly involved in the investigation
in a role greater than that of witness. He is full of anger, and it might
present an ethical dilemma that I am not sure he is ready to deal with
appropriately."
"Your point is well taken. When I can find a suitable investigator to replace David
on this assignment, how much help do you feel he can be?", Lasiter said giving the
impression that at some point injured or not, David would have to talk about his
experiences for public record...
