Admiral Carrhae t'Llhweiir had spent much of the day dealing with Intell
matters. Most of it had gone well. She had a very competent staff, and they
did not need her to micromanage them. Which made her last meeting all the more
dissatisfying. And had percipitated her call to Matthew Brennan.
He had made her relax and smile again.
Now, however, she needed to look into her new role as Lasiter's Chief-of-Staff.
She shut down her computer access and gave her assistant Y'Toi some final
instructions before leaving.
Shortly thereafter, she reached what had been M'Rrenn's office.
She found an office that looked nothing like a typical Starfleet office. The floor
was covered with grass mats of Caitian origin. Tall plants occupied every corner and
most of the wall space of the room, giving the impression that the work area was more
a clearing in a jungle or forrest, than an office in a large Starbase. The desk and
chairs were typical furnature, except that they looked to be designed for beings that
had tails. On one of the shelves was a small water fountain, that not only made a
pleasent splashing background noise, but added moisture to the typical sterile station
air. The desk had a few PADDs stacked in a neat pile, and there was, of course, a
terminal. On a shelf were some halo-picture of friends and family. One of special
note was of M'Rrenn, Lasiter, Marcus Garibaldi, and another officer.
THe place was almost like a shrine, as it had not been touched since M'Rrenn was last
there.
