She had no notion of why M'Rrenn would have been expected to prep Renaud. She
checked the computer to see if there were any notes that might give her a clue.
The notes that M'Rrenn included in the appointment stated that he was to let Admiral
renaud know of Lasiter's general feelings on R&D, and to make sure that he was
prepared to handle the pressures and posturing of the Oversight Committee.
In general, Adm. Lasiter was displeased at the lack luster results and generally
crappy management of Project Shadow and the political jockying over project Finger of
God. Both projects were vital to Starfleet's defensive mission and simply too
important to be treated as second rate projects. While the CinC was generally happy
about the progress with Projects O'Briem's Gift and Fish, the inefficient manner in
which they were run was grotesque. The resources would be better used in other
projects, like improving transporter capaabilities or expanding andorid research.
However, what bother Lasiter most of all was the extent that the politicians held sway
in what Starfleet did in the R&D division. They should have input, but not command
and control. regaining control of the research would be Renaud's top priority. As
Chief of Staff, it was up to t'Llhweiir to make sure he was able to do just that.
