"Dr. D'amondra left specific orders you weren't to do anything too... exciting," Lucas said once they were en route, "So I took the liberty of booking us on a leisurely cruise of the Perseids. There'll be a few stop-offs at the outposts, and one at the rainforest moon of Garen V. I heard there are some good beaches and great fishing there. Hope that works for you, sir."
"The last time I went fishing, I was with Samuel Lasiter on some god forsaken lake in northern Minnesota. Mosquito ridden place. Despite the bugs, we had a good time, and I suspect that this trip will be the same. A few minor annoyances here and there, but a great trip nonetheless. Just give me a few hours on the beaches. The sound of the water always calms me right down....."
"I'm afraid I won't be able to match Admiral Lasiter, sir," Lucas replied, "I'm not much of an angler. But I will spend quite a bit of time on the beach. I prefer diving, and while I'm not exactly sure what kind of submarine terrain is there, I imagine there's quite some interesting sights under the surface. Are you hungry, sir? There's a cafeteria on board. The onboard movie is also going to start in a few minutes."
So far, Lucas had given no indication he knew anything about the VLF, just easy-going, somewhat geeky Lucas.
