A few moments later, Hilda stepped into the bay and made her way over to the Blackstone. She had pretty much quickly unpacked and grabbed something to eat before making her way to the rendez vous before the launch.

"Greetings, Lieutenant Commander. I see that we are just about ready to go," she said as she saw the station's technicians gathering their things together in order to leave.

The other woman just nodded. "We are just waiting for the rest of the team to arrive."

"I have a question ... or rather an observation."

"Go ahead, Doctor," replied the Security Officer

"One thing that we have not considered is that this phenomenon could be some sort of biological machine. While we have little to no experience with that sort of technology, there is nothing to say that technological machines are the only way to advance a society's technology. It is not as if the Federation has not experiences such technology in the past."

Aravis had to admit that she had not considered such a possibility herself. "Doctor, do you know of a species that has such a ray?"
