Knucklebiter sat on the meditable waiting for someone to show and looked over the padd.

It did not take long for a medic to arrive.  She was a woman in  her sixties with a grandmotherly look about her.  She had short loosly curled hair that framed her face.  She adjusted her glasses as she took in her patient.  "Well, I would say welcome to the medical  bay, but I am sure that there are places you would much rather be,"  replied the woman  with a smile.  "I am LtCdr Virginia  Thomas.  What can I do for you, Lieutenant?" she asked taking in his pips.

He put a paw to his midsection,, "I think I have dog poisoning," and a loud long burp erupted uncontrolled from him, rumbling like a great bass tuba.

The medic cocked her head slightly.  "I am not sure if I know what dog poisoning is, Lieutenant, but then I must admit that I have never treated someone of your species before."

"Look under Federation Species 'Dilbian" in your medical database," he said, "Or i have an isolinear chip here withg the information on it."
Thomas accepted the chip and inserted it into a nearby console to bring up information about the Dilbian as she listened to Knucklebiter.

"As far as 'dog poisoning', I think I am having a bad digestive reaction to something I ate. I was told it was an Earth 'little doggie'.
While she would not have chosen to eat a dog, it was not unheard of.  A number of south Asian and Polynesian cultures had a history of that sort of dish.  She was surprised to hear that it would make someone ill since it is really not all that much different from eating the meat of another Earth mammel.  "Was the meat cooked when you ate it?"

(KB?)

(OOC: Since this is your species, I am going to need a little help in diagnosing the cause of the poisoning so Thomas can treat it.  What was wrong with the meat?)
