Jared watched herself and chuckled. "I could definitely have used someone like that
where I have been stationed for the last couple of years. Too many lawyers and judges
means too much seriousness."

"It's not much better here. The down to earth, low key joints are here. It's just
that I don't have time to visit them."

"You should try and make the time. We all have to eat. Why not try and do it at a
place where you can have some fun and meet people like Beatrice?"

"Meals have been just about the only time that I have had to myself these days. A sad
existance that only seems to get even more so," Lasiter said solmnly. "You know that
I was just getting the air cleared and old axes burried between Sam and I when he
died...", he revealed after a deep breath.

Lasiter was being surprisingly open and forward. It was not his way to be so open.
Actually, it was not his way to be open at all. He usually held things close to the
vest, especially personal matters. Those closest to him usually had to pry
information out of him.

"And that is something that you should be glad about. There were no opportunities
lost between you," replied Jared.

(Lasiter?)

"Sam, you cannot live your whole life with worries about what could have been with
your son. He would not want you to do it, and it will only lead to missing out on
those that are still alive. You have family and friends that are here for you."

(Lasiter?)
