A moment later, the "eye" had returned and started flairing with energy before releasing it. The emitted beam struck the shuttle and the ship simply disappeared.
McTiernan turned from his console. "I think that might support our hypothesis that it is some sort of transport device."
Aravis studied the CO. He was pale but handling the pressure better than he would have thought considering his behavior when they first met. "Commander, did you get a reading on the signal sent from the shuttle to initiate transport."
