>"With all due respect, Doctor, I have a strong hunch he's responding to me...I need that response. I need the >information." Not noticed by himself, his hand began shaking again from the stress.

>T'Mel made her way over to the Captain.  She had no doubt that he in fact saw evidence, but she wondered >how much of his response was due to some sort of need to have K'Tael back.  It seemed like more than a >need to know that a compatriot was ok.  It seemed like something more personal.

>The Vulcan doctor took a seat and studied the lawyer for a moment.  "It is a good sign that the Commander >seems to be reacting to your presence.  It indicates that his mind is functioning.  It is important that we not >get our hopes up too quickly.  Brain injuries are still a mystery to us."  There was a surprising amount of >empathy in the doctor's comments as she spoke.

David didn't like the reply but had no choice, "All right. Can we have some Vulcan music piped in here if possible. If we can stimulate him more it may help?"

Doing so would do no harm. It might even do some good.  "I believe we coule manage to do that.  It might be more helpful to provide the Commander with some Klingon operas," she suggested.  It was more of a question than anything since she assumed that the Captain knew the Klingon Security Chief better than she did.
