She then took a second stairway up to the uppermost level, where doors led to
two master suites. She passed the first, closed doorway and entered the next,
which revealed a very tastefully decorated bedroom with a stunning view of the
ocean. Its large bathing chambers could be seen through another door off to
the left.
The other open door yielded the view of a private office overflowing with paper
books, illusions of flowers, and from which flowed soft, exotic music from a
sound system.
She indicated a table where fruits and other light foods had been
placed. "Just in case you wanted a little something to fortify yourself. Nothing alcoholic, I'm afraid," she finished lightly.
His grin was lopsided. "Wouldn't want to chance taking this step with a compromised intellect," he agreed. There will be plenty of time for imbibing *after* she can no longer change her mind.
She walked to the bed and lifted up a maile lei. "For the groom. I figured it would go with any color you wore."
He smiled warmly. "Thank you. It is perfect. As is everything. I cannot tell you how much I appreciate all that you have done for us, this day, and all the others."
She returned it to lie beside its twin. "The other is for Samuel," she said.

Downstairs at the transporter console, a signal came through. A cloistered monastary in Ireland was calling. Father Patrick Francis O'Malley was requesting transport.
Upstairs, a single chime sounded from a nearby wall comm. Kalina said to Matt,
"I have to go. Your celebrant has arrived. I'd like to talk with him to see
if he needs anything further for the ceremony itself."

She walked quickly down to the garden, arriving just moments after the gentleman
appeared on the transporter padd.
"Aloha," she said to him. "I'm Kalina Haleakala."
