"None at all, Ael," Carrhae replied.  Then, she reached down and removed her
sandals as well.

She went through the door and across the veranda to the grassy backyard.  As
they strolled, she said, "I am glad that you could join us this evening.  I
know Matthew wanted you to be here."
"I have grown rather close to the one," Ael told her, her face impassive, but her voice soft.  "He is remarkably honorable for a human, and as such, I find him deserving of happiness and contentment."
