>T'Kresh continued with the introductions as the General and Grand Proxy
>spoke. "I know that you have met our other new members, Melora Damesh.
>You knew her as the Diplomatic Aide to Golan Dulath when he was the
>representative from the Cardassian Union. He has since been reassigned,
>and she has been appointed as his replacement."

The Clone's mild-mannered gaze rested on Damesh for a moment. "Gentle
tides," she said pleasantly, "Congratulations on your promotion,
Ambassador."

>Melora Damesh bowed her head. "Gentle tides, Madam Tremea," she replied
>with surprising diplomacy. "It is a pleasure to see you again. I am glad
>that rumors that you had left the station for good were exaggerated." The
>way the comment was said left interpretation of how much she knew open.

The T'remea's head tilted a little, considering this. "Unfortunately, I
will not be returning to my original post on this station. I look forward,
however, to working with Ambassador Haryail as the representative on General
A'amon's staff." There definitely seemed to be something of the original
Celana D'amondra's diplomatic acumen lacking, even if the Clone still had
her memories. Then she suddenly asked, "Tell me, how is former ambassador
Dulath? I hope his... reassignment is agreeable to him." If it weren't for
her placid manner, one might almost think she was countering Melora's jab on

purpose.

Melora sneered. It seemed that the Tremea tried to keep up on things even
though she still was not on the station. "I believe his students and
associates greatly appreciate his presence. It is always good to have a
person of
his knowledge and experience on Cardassia Prime." Melora had avoided
answering
the question, and it was clear to just about anyone within hearing.

>Valtris had to admit that Melora was being the most polite she had ever
>seen. She had to wonder what she was hoping to get from the other woman.
>At the same time, she also noticed that the Cardassian was doing her little
>bit to jab a needle in like she always did. It would be interesting to see
>how the Venasians reacted to the be'mIgh.
>
>Lasiter returned his attention to the Venasians. He was wondering just
>what A'amon's reason for bringing the clone to Spacedock was. Was it to
>test the Federation? He had to suspect that it was Starfleet that rescued
>the real Celana D'amondra. Or was it the need to gloat of their technical
>superiority, or to further drill into the minds of the masses back home
>that the T'remea was backing the government- a legitamizing move on
>A'amon's part. What was certain was that the General had sand.... {OOC: a
>phrase from a Turner Network Television western- aka gumption, stones,
>etc...}

A'amon was watching the Clone closely, though with ths shadow of a smile on
his face.

"So, General, what role has the former Council taken in the new government that
has been formed?", Lasiter asked trying to engage the General in some pointed
conversation.
