General A'amon smiled graciously at Marconis. "Emissary Marconis. Pride in one's people is hardly considered presumptuous."

The General tilted his head in the traditional greeting. "Admiral. It is agreeable to see you again."

"Moving on would be a good idea.", agreed Marconis.

"If you will excuse us.", Lasiter said more than happy to bow out of this affair. "The General and I have other matters to attend to. Emissary, please do not hesitate to contact me if you should have a need. Admiral Bedru, the Starfleet liason to the Diplomatic Council, will know how to reach me. Welcome, sir, and good day."

      "Thank you Admiral Lasiter."

Before departing, A'amon tilted his head at Marconis. "Emissary. Good luck with your application to the Council." There was only the slightest emphasis on the word 'application'.
