It took only a short walk down a hall to arrive at the Aqualish Embassy. The ballroom was large and fully decorated in the style of the Aqualish, but there was some Romulan music currently being played as the group entered. There were a number of tables set up in scattered areas around the room allowing for the sampling of various foods.

Bedru took it upon herself to stay at the Ramesar emissary's side. She saw her role as peacekeeper.

Levy stayed close to Bedru to keep an eye on things.

"The Council most definately does know how to welcome an applicant," Marconis said allowing a bit of levity into his voice for the first time.

As Bedru nursed a glass of juice, she said to Marconis, "Emissary, I must admit my surprise at your government's decision to request admission to the Council."

"I understand your surprise, Admiral. We are, for all intents and purposes, a new race to this part of the galaxy. However, the best way to learn about our neighbors, and the current challenges facing this part of space, is to actively seek out and become aquainted with ones neighbors. The Council seemed like the perfect opportunity to do just that. If fortunate enough to be admitted to the Council, it is our hope to have our official representative serve as the official point of contact between all peoples. Thus eliminating the need to estabilish so many embassies abroad."

Dai'Cou had been standing with the main group and was sipping a glass of Romulan ale. "Most of us double as the official representatives for our government here on Earth, but you may find that you will still have to open embassies elsewhere at some point. The members of the Council may be important to their governments but they cannot be the sole voice of their government since they are not the ruling body."
