"The Council most definately does know how to welcome an applicant.",
Marconis said allowing a bit of levity into his voice for the first time.

"I understand your surprise, Admiral. We are, for all intents and purposes,
a new race to this part of the galaxy. However, the best way to learn about
our neighbors, and the current challenges facing this part of space, is to
actively seek out and become aquainted with ones neighbors. The Council seemed
like the perfect opportunity to do just that. If fortunate enough to be
admitted to the Council, it is our hope to have our official representative
serve as the official point of contact between all peoples. Thus eliminating
the need to estabilish so many embassies abroad."
